We are not care-takers; we are bridge-builders.

Support

Our focus is on offering a full range of services that allow people with physical or developmental disabilities the ability and knowledge to live a full, rewarding and productive life.

Some of our direct services are provided by in house staff and are considered direct services. For other individual support services we provide full assistance, support, management, transportation etc. while working with outside service providers. Our Direct Services are designed to help our community members with the basic activities of daily living including dressing, eating, walking, toileting, bathing, cleaning, and other types of basic care that allow people to lead more independent lives.

Our Individual Case Management helps specify the type of services and support each of our community members need and desire. We meet with the person and those active in their life, discuss their hopes and dreams. A plan is then developed that outlines how we will assist them to reach their goals.

The supports that Oahe, Inc. provides are designed for a specific individual. Some examples of services provided include:

Residential Supports:

Whether someone lives on their own, with family, or with roommates, we can assist with daily activities. This may include assistance with personal cares, cleaning, meal preparation, medication administration or supervision.

Medical Supports:

We will provide assistance with scheduling and attending appointments, medication administration, dietary needs and preferences, etc.

Financial Supports:

We will provide assistance with completing applications and reports for outside agencies such as Social Security, housing, food stamps, etc. We also assist with learning money management skills, assuring bills are paid, maintaining checking account and routine purchases.

Community Supports:

We assist people to develop connections in their community. This might be for volunteering, work, friendships, religious services, vacations or entertainment. The people we support are valued members of our community.

Vocational Supports:

We can assist people to identify jobs they may be interested in, completing application and the interview process, and also assist with job training and job coaching. We also assist people to start and operate their own businesses.

Day Activity:

In addition we have a day service center that offers a variety of activities such as job skills, life skills, computers, reading, math and financial activities, fitness and exercise, healthful eating and basic cooking, volunteer opportunities, short term piece work employment and lots of fun and laughter.

Employment:

We operate some businesses that employ people supported for shredding, office tasks and janitorial responsibilities.
